Immigration Statistics
IMPORTANT: all immigration data are reported for Fiscal Years, not calendar years, defined as from October 1 to September 30 of next year.
Immigrants are persons lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States. The number of immigrants presented in a given Fiscal Year is NOT the same as the number of net migrants who entered the United States during that Fiscal Year. Immigrants are reported in the Fiscal Year when they adjust their status to lawful permanent residence, and not in the year they migrated to the United States.
